Position Description
The UIC College of Pharmacy, Departments of Pharmacy Practice and Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services seek a Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Pharmacist, Operations Coordinator, Medication Therapy Management Clinic (MTMC) to join our team.

Clinical Faculty responsibilities include the provision of didactic lectures at various Health Science Colleges and serving as a preceptor for student pharmacists, and PGY1 and PGY2 residents. Scholarly activities, including presentations and publications, are an expectation as well.

Operations Coordinator responsibilities include staffing and day-to-day operations management of the MTMC. Supervisory duties include development of the monthly clinical coverage schedule, monitoring and management of clinic workflow, and resolution of patient care and administrative issues that arise in clinic. The Operations Coordinator will work with the MTMC Clinical Coordinator to assure the mission of the MTMC program is achieved including appropriate teaching and research are conducted. In addition to supervisory activities, the person will provide direct patient care services a number of days per week in the MTMC. The Operations Coordinator, MTMC reports directly to the Senior Associate Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services and works closely with the Assistant Director and Pharmacy Coordinator of the Outpatient Care Center (OCC) Pharmacy.

Clinical Pharmacist responsibilities include providing comprehensive medication management to patients seen at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System on-site outpatient Medication Therapy Management Clinic. Responsibilities also include establishing patient-pharmacist relationships; creating, recommending and implementing comprehensive individualized evidence-based therapeutic plans; nurse, physician, and pharmacy staff development; coordinating and conducting quality initiative and research projects; and developing collaborative treatment protocols.

We are looking for a motivated compassionate individual who is a team player, possesses strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrates flexibility and adapts to a changing work environment; excellent time management and organizational skills; and is committed to excellent patient care.

Candidates must be a graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy PharmD program with an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy residency required and PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy highly desired. Candidates must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for a non-tenured faculty position with the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the UIC college of Pharmacy. Level is commensurate with experience. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for Illinois licensure as a professional pharmacist. Previous management experience is highly desired. Board Certification and bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
